Embie Burger

Hello! My name is Madailein, but most know me as Embie. I’m originally from Columbus, Ohio, and recently graduated from Boston University with a degree in Musicology and Ethnomusicology. Currently, I’m pursuing my teaching certifications in early childhood education. 

I believe childhood is the seed through which all else grows, so cultivating experiences of empathy, curiosity, and creativity at such a critical age is at the core of what I love to do. After all, it’s an honor to be invited into a child’s world! 

This invitation requires trust, so it’s the little things that count, such as taking the time to explain tiny details or asking them questions about what they think and deeply listening. This all serves to meet a child where they’re at and provide an attentive and encouraging environment. 

I see how musical tools such as improvisation and call-and-response empower children with confidence and collaboration skills. I love to engage them in participation by improvising one-of-a-kind songs specific to a current environment or the unique interests of each child. 

Kindernest Montessori is truly a special place for children to grow, and I take pride in contributing to this nurturing community with intentionality and dedication.
