Kristin Lorch
Infant Toddler Coordinator- Toddler Lead Teacher
I began my Montessori journey in 2001 as an assistant in a toddler classroom, and after that first year, I knew I had found my passion. That summer, I began working toward my AMS 0-3 certification through the Center for Montessori Teacher Education in New York. Over the next three years at Bridges Montessori in South Florida, I had the privilege of working with the same group of children, starting in the infant environment and moving with them into the toddler program.
Next, I joined the Montessori School of Manhattan, where I led the expansion of the toddler department from two classrooms to six, across two campuses. After five years in Manhattan, I relocated to Massachusetts, where I took on the role of Curriculum Coordinator and toddler teacher at Newton Montessori School. During my time there, I guided the school through its initial AMS and NEASC accreditation process. I later moved to Walnut Park Montessori, also in Newton, where I spent four years building an authentic and thriving toddler program from the ground up.
I am deeply passionate about Montessori education, especially working with our youngest learners. Their capacity for independence, understanding, empathy, and self-regulation never ceases to amaze me. Through the prepared Montessori environment, we can nurture these qualities and foster their natural development.
Outside of the classroom, I am a mother of two children who were raised in the Montessori tradition and are now independent, empathetic pre-teens/teens. I am also a nature lover, yoga enthusiast, and music is an important part of my life—elements I enjoy incorporating into my work with the children.
I am thrilled to be part of the Kindernest Montessori community from the very beginning and to help create a beautiful, authentic environment for our youngest students to learn and grow.
